Hi,
Tell us what you are trying to do?
US toolset custom search
On two occasions, I have stopped working on my site with the Toolset search view and view output working normally and the following day my search page no longer displays the Toolset container and I get “view not found”.
I have looked at existing support tickets and see that there are a few “view not found” tickets, but I have not found a solution.
Please could you advise me.
Regards,
BillD
Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.
That is strange. Can you please tell me what view you created and where you are displaying the view.
I'll require admin access details to check whats going wrong with your setup.
*** Please make a FULL BACKUP of your database and website.***
I would also eventually need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site. Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.
I have set the next reply to private which means only you and I have access to it.
Can you please share problem URL and tell me what view you expect to display there?
On view's listing page: hidden link
It shows the message "any (missing post type) ordered by post date, descending, default items per page with manual pagination" for the view "recherche1 — Block Editor".
Can you please tell me what post type you suppose to list using view "recherche1 — Block Editor"?
what if you create a brand new view and check if that helps as I'm not exactly sure whats causing this issue as no other users ever reported such issue.
Thanks for your reply.
The Custom post is called "Catenas".
I'll do as you suggest and try a new view too (That's what I did the last time).
I've tried another view search in the other page hidden link
but it doesn't display either.
Can you please make sure you create a brand new view and check if that works.
Also, please try to create a new view with a brand new site and check if it works there.
Thanks... for you suggestions.
Ok - please update me how it goes with another install and with brand new block view you create.
I have created another view on a new page on the site and it works fine. This is not the issue.
My issue is the "view not found" on the page I have spent a lot of time working on, as I did 6 months ago - everything was fine and the following day there was nothing - just "view not found" even if it is there.
In views, it says "recherche1 — Block Editor - Edit is not supported for this View | Trash" It can only be edited in the block editor.
But it cannot because all there is to see is the "view not found".
However, in code view everything is still there.
Please can you advise me on this.
I would like to check the following.
In Dashboard I have: a Custom Post, Custom fields, Taxonomies, a single item page template & an archive.
I have created a ‘custom search page’ by inserting a container with a custom search and view output - please see image here attached.
Just to confirm, I have done the design and layout on this ‘custom search page’ and it gave me the search functionality and output format perfectly until it stopped working over night - it did the same thing 6 months ago.
Is this the correct way to approach a Toolset project or should I do the design and layout on the single item page template instead of or as well as the ‘custom search page’? I can do most of the technical stuff with a little help for functions, but there is a problem here (maybe with me) which I would like to resolve. I would very much appreciate you guidance.
Yes - you can build custom search view on brand new page. That is not the issue.
Your issue is really unique, we have thousands of users and we do not get a single complain like you shared with this ticket. If it works with the brand new view, I suggest you to go with that workaround for now and keep an eye on that when and how its broken and share the details in future if it gets broken again.
I understand that I can add the view to a brand new page.
<p>
Should I do the design and layout on the 'single item page template' (in the Dashboard) instead of or as well as the ‘custom search page’ (the new page)? Or is it only necessary to work on the 'new page' (and not necessary on the template)?
it depends.
Lets say you have "Student" post type and you want to design single post layout to display single student post. Then you can go ahead and create a single post content template and design your single post layout.
If you want to build layout for only one specific page then you can design it on the same page.
