Hello,
I want to know if it's possible to use Layouts in Toolset Starter Theme to set up Author pages ? How could I do this ?
Also, is it possible to change the author slug directly into Toolset plugins ? Or should I use third party plugin ?
Thank you.

If you mean Author archives, then you can do this with WordPress Archives. Go to Toolset > WordPress Archives and create a new archive. In the Loops Selection, choose "Author archives". You can add content to this archive to display a page for each author, for example: hidden link

Also, is it possible to change the author slug directly into Toolset plugins
No, there is not a good way to do this in Toolset. It would require a 3rd-party plugin.
