I have questions regarding the insertion of Field And Views shortcodes into Divi builder Text Modules.

I created a Taxonomy link to identify each custom post type as "Catagories". I want to insert the name of the category (CPT) in the right column of the grid as can be shown in the attached screenshot.

1. When I click the Fields And Views from the Text Module > Fields And Views shortcodes > Taxonomy > Categories > Display options > Display format > I do not know definitively which of the format options to populate the blank grid column with the text content.

2. I am not which "Anchor text when linking to the term archive page" option to select

3. Why would the "Order" option apply for inserting a shortcode to insert a text title?

Hi Charles,

Thank you for contacting our support forum.

In response to your questions.

1. When I click the Fields And Views from the Text Module > Fields And Views shortcodes > Taxonomy > Categories > Display options > Display format > I do not know definitively which of the format options to populate the blank grid column with the text content.

A. I would leave it as is unless you want any other option to be displayed. The default option will display the taxonomy name with a link attached to it for that taxonomy archive page.

2. I am not which "Anchor text when linking to the term archive page" option to select

A. If the first option is selected under "Display Format" then you are able to select which text to attach the archive link to.

3. Why would the "Order" option apply for inserting a shortcode to insert a text title?

A. This is the order in which you want the terms to be displayed if the post has more than one categories attached.

Please let me know if this clears up any concerns for you.

Thanks,
Shane

Thank you for this infomration.

Can you please define "Terms" as it is used within Toolset?

Hi Charles,

Lets say you have a Taxonomy called Manufacturer. We know that a Manufacturer can be Audi, BMW, Mitsubishi.

So generally speaking Manufacturer is the Taxonomy and the Audi, BMW and Mitsubishi are the terms. So when you are displaying the terms you will get either, Audi, BMW or Mitsubishi based on what is attached to the post.

Thanks,
Shane

That was an excellent description, thank you.

However, this confirms that what I had assumed Taxonomy meant might be incorrect and I have read the taxonomy documents several times.

For example; using a custom post type of "Artwork", I want to display content such as Title, Size, Color, Price, etc. aren't these set in Toolset as Taxonomy for the display page?

Hi Charles,

The Title in your case would be the name of that Post that was created.

Size,Prize,Color would be either a taxonomy or custom field.

So you would create a custom taxonomy called Size and then define each individual size as terms.

Thanks,
Shane

Thank you for this information but this is still confusing to me.

I need to see a practical example specific to my project in order for me to fully understand. I will continue with the development and hope that the various components come together.

Thank you. When I first began working with Toolset, I used a staging clone of a current live site.

I recently activated the Toolset apps on the live WordPress site and I plan to begin reconstructing it instead of the staging. Should I indicate the new site address in future ticket updates?

Hi Charles,

Yes you should provide the url of the website you are currently working on for future tickets. In this case it would be your live site.

Thanks,
Shane
