[Resolved] Using cred_generic_field for password displays password while typing in textbox

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The issue here is that the user has a CRED generic field on his form for user password, but this field is showing the passwords as plain text.

Solution:
In this user's case he declared the field type as a textfield. When creating a generic password field please ensure that the field type is declared as password.

Hi Vimal,

Seems these are issues with our Betas.

Does this problem occur on the latest stable release of CRED ? Version 1.9.6?

Please let me know.

Hi Vimal,

I would like to check this for you since i'm not able to replicate but the credentials are not working. Could you check on this for me ?

Just need to see how things are setup so I can report to our team.

Hi Vimal,

I checked on this for you and the issue was that you created the generic field as a textfield when it should've been a password field type.

It should now be working as intended.

Thanks,
Shane
