Use one layout for multiple views

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

I have different pages in my old website that all use the same structure (content left, search sidebar right). Each page loads a different type of articles.

I would like to know if I can build one layout for this, but with different views for the main content, or do I need to create different layouts each with their specific view?

Hi Kristof,

Thank you for contacting our support forum.

This is actually possible and all that is needed is to create a Layout and set it as a parent layout.

Then to that layout you will need to add a child cell. Once you have done that then you can create child layouts for your other pages and then set appropriate parent layout for the child posts.

Hi, I had to drop the Layouts plugin due to incompatibility with the Avada theme, but I have managed to use a normal Avada template with content and sidebar.
