I've build a custom search archive.
Now I want to split the filter and the results on the archive page.
I want to have the filter display fullwidth
and below that a two column layout, on the left the archive results from the filter, the right column, another view, or promotional content...
I've tried tying it together in layouts, but the [wpv-filter-meta-html] and [wpv-layout-meta-html] don't render when trying to apply outside the archive design...
This should actually be possible to if you edit the section where you find the [wpv-filter-meta-html] and [wpv-layout-meta-html]
The only issue is that you will need to build your layout here manually. This way you can display your filter on one end and your other view and results how you want it.
That was just the point. I'm trying to use a page builder to do the visual layouting.
Based upon the latest newsletter when the integration with Hestia theme and elementor was announced, I went for this route.
But now it seems this is by far a complete integration.
it works partially for views and single posts, but not for the complete layout.
It means I would need to work with a hybrid solution, which means I have to maintain the site in two ways. The page builder and the manual stuff for the archives. Just missing the point for agility and consistency.
I feel kind of tricked by this integration announcement.
Is there any other page builder that fully supports toolset single post layouts, views, archives and allows as well to fully design all layout elements of toolset?
As far as I know there is no page builder that can be used to design a Layout in our Layouts plugin.
All the page builders that work with Toolset are only able to modify the views content template and design layouts for those.
So as you say the best solution is to build out your custom archive with the view custom archive with the page builder. Then use Layouts to add your additional view in a separate column.
