[Resolved] Use Filtering options with Elementor Post widget

This support ticket is created 3 years, 4 months ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

Would it be possible to use the Filtering options from Toolset with Elementor's Post widget?

I have a custom post type called Portfolio and I created a loop using Elementor's Post widget.

I want to be able to use the categories to filter the portfolio. Would the filtering option from Toolset work with the Post widget?

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

No, you can not mix the things like you add filter using view and display the posts using elementor posts widget and even if you found a way to do it we do not recommend to use it.

I suggest to create a view in classic/legacy mode:

And then create your view with the filter for your desired post type and display the view by adding the text widget and add your view to it.
