[Resolved] Updating plugins returns an error – unable to get local issuer certificate

Hi, I am getting this error when trying to update the plugin:
cURL error 60: SSL certificate problem: unable to get local issuer certificate

In order to ask my host to upload certificates, I need to know which URL the plugin is downloading updates from, ie. api.toolset.com or similar.

Can you please help and let me know which URL is used for updates?

Wow, I would not expect different versions of the plugin are connecting to different servers for updates... My current install has a version 2.3.5.

OK - so we have published Types new version 3.2.4 with the updated installer.

Iis there any reason you are using the really old version of Types plugin 2.3.5. If no, then you can download it from your account's download page as shown above. I would recommend updating the plugin manually for now using plugins page.

The only reason I was using the old version is that I was unable to update the plugin due to the issue described above. I have now downloaded the latest version, had to disable to website to update the plugin manually. And the result is the same as before, I cannot register the plugin because of the error:

I would really need to know which URL you use for updates - then I can contact my host provider and they will install certificates for this URL and I will be fine. I had this experience with other plugins and it worked.

I would also eventually need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site. Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.

I would additionally need your permission to de- and re-activate Plugins and the Theme, and to change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is really important. Well - You are running with the PHP Version 5.6.39, Could you please update PHP version to latest PHP 7.x.x and check if that help you to resolve this issue.

Even WordPress recommends to use PHP 7.3 or greater:

If you do not know how to update PHP version on your server, please get in touch with your hosting authority.

My host provider has just updated PHP to version 7. Unfortunately, the issue still persists.

Would you consider to give me the URL which the plugin uses to register/update? Maybe this little thing will help.

I have managed to resolve the issue with my host provider. We have identified the URL and certificates that needed to be installed on my server and the updates now work!!!

It was the issue I described and if you provided me the URL for updates as I requested, it would be solved immediately without the hassle of me writing back and forth and installing copies of the websites etc etc.

It's a pity you underestimate your customer this way.
