[Resolved] updates to Views, Maps, Layouts will not download to site

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

The issue here is that the user is unable to update his plugins through his backend.

Solution:

Issues like these are generally caused by server issues and I would recommend that a manual install of the plugin is done.

The plugins can be downloaded from the link below.

This support ticket is created 6 years, 10 months ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

I am trying to:
Update Views, Layouts and Maps prior to the site going live today. Cannot give access to dev site because it is being prepared for going live.
I have unregistered and re-registered the site and tried updating the components but all three fail with this error message:

The package could not be installed. (PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature)

Thank you for contacting our support forum.

Which version of views are you trying to update to because the latest version we have is Views 2.5.2

The site currently has:
Views 2.5.1
Layouts 2.1
and both these say that there are updates available which I have tried to do from within the site. This is when I get the error message
I have registered the live site and used the key successfully. It shows on the list of "my sites" and recognises that types, layouts and views are installed.

I have now deleted Toolset Maps which was apparently causing a problem when making the site live. That is not a great issue since I have achieved what I want without it.

Also what you can do if this issue occurs is to manually download the plugins from our downloads page.
