Hello,

We are running a very old version of Toolset types, Version 2.3.5. In addition to this, we are also running the following PHP and WordPress versions:

WordPress 5.0.22
PHP 7.0

We are attempting to upgrade the site to the latest version of WordPress, however, to do this, we need to be on a minimum PHP version of 7.2.

The issue I have, is that when we upgrade the PHP version to 7.2, it breaks the Toolset Theme! ie, virtually all pages, especially the product pages. We have created a clone site to test our updates, but the clone always redirects the cone site back to the live site when viewing the product pages, so It is hard to test our updates. So we pushed the updates live and that is when we discovered the broken theme. Fast Hosts is our host and were able to push the site back thankfully, but I need some advice and help to resolve this and update our website.

I am confident that the issue may well be that we are using an old version of Toolset Types, upgrading this could fix the issue, however, if this isn't, I need to know if there is a way of going back as I do believe that updating to the new version on Toolset will update the site database file. Once this is updated, there would be no going back and I will break my site beyond repair.

Are you able to have a look at our website, I am happy to give you temporary access to our WordPress (please let me know what level you need).

Thanks in advance

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

Can you please first create a staging site and where you should first try to update the Toolset plugins.

Before you update the Toolset plugins to latest official release version:
*** Please make a FULL BACKUP of your database and website.***

For now, please try to update the Toolset Types plugin manually from plugins page and then you can add/update addon Toolset plugins:
- Deactivate and Delete all Toolset plugins from plugins page
- Download Toolset Types plugin from your accounts page: https://toolset.com/account/downloads/
==> https://toolset.com/faq/how-to-install-and-register-toolset/#installing-the-toolset-types-plugin
- Upload and activate Types plugin using plugins page and try to register the Toolset by creating new site key. After that you are free to install and activate all other Toolset plugins using the installer:
==> https://toolset.com/faq/how-to-install-and-register-toolset/#automatic-installation-once-you-have-types-plugin-installed
