[Resolved] Unable to populate options in search form select field

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The issue here was that the user wanted to create a custom search archive but set it up incorrectly so the filters didn't have any value in them.

Solution:

The correct way to setup your CPT archive can be done by following the instructions in our documentation below.

I am trying to: populate options in search form select field with stored values

Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link

I expected to see: The "year" select field populated with some values already stored such as 2017 o 2018

Instead, I got: no options in select field

Any help, please?

Hi Igor,

Thank you for the credentials.

I was able to resolve the issue. What I did was to create a custom archive separately and then assign this custom archive to the layout that you had created.

Please let me know if this helps.

Thanks,
Shane

OK thanks. But I don't understand the difference between a archive dd_layout and view_archives. Any example? I have a little mess now after changes you made
