I am trying to:
Proofread a post in the WP post preview.

Link to a page where the issue can be seen:
(I can't give one, because the published post executes the shortcode as it should)

I expected to see:
The contents of the types field

Instead, I got: see image

Hi, can you try these troubleshooting steps?
- Update Views and Layouts to use the latest versions. Ideally you should update Types as well, but if you're not ready to go to Types version 3 yet, 2.3.5 is okay.
- Temporarily activate a default theme like Twenty Nineteen, deactivate all plugins except Types, Views, and Layouts, and test again. If you want to activate a maintenance mode plugin during testing that's fine.
- If the problem is resolved, reactivate your theme and other plugins one by one until the problem returns. Try to pin down a single source of conflict.
- If the problem is not resolved, tell me more about how you have placed the types field shortcode. Is it in a Content Template, or directly in the post? Are you using the Block editor or classic editor? Are any Types field shortcodes working here, or are all displayed as shortcodes in the preview? Are any JavaScript errors displayed in the browser console during the preview?

I have updated the plugins...side note, it would be great if sometime these could be made compatible with being update through WP-CLI. I don't run the admin area with the ability to see the "add plugins" or updates, on a normal basis. So the "commercial" tab, where the plugins are updated, is not accessible.

Back to the original issue:
After running through the theme/plugin cycle, I identified that it's the inclusion of the shortcode inside a content locker that's causing the issue. As soon as I deactivate the content locker plugin the shortcode works again in preview. Interestingly, when the content locker is enabled, I cannot edit the page template in the admin. All I get is as you see in the attached image.

I'm going to do a complete rework of the site in some months, to bring it up to date with Gutenberg, etc. I will probably rethink how I'm using Type/etc at that time, and may not go the content locker route. So unless there are known conflicts between hidden link and toolset, I'll continue through my active season as-is and resolve it when I re-do the site.

I just did a quick search on the entire site for 'content locker' and only one other ticket appears. There was no conflict mentioned, but that was over 2 years ago. So I can't say for sure if it's working completely now or not. If you'd like to investigate further, let me know and I can get that ball rolling sooner rather than later.

Sure, I'll be glad to have you take a look at it. Do need to wait till Thursday, though. What do you need from me?

Hi Robert,

As Christian is currently unavailable I will be handling this ticket for him.

Since there is a conflict I suspect that this does not only affecs our Toolset plugins but any plugin that uses a shortcode.

Do you have another plugin that uses shortcodes to render content? If so could you check those as well?

Secondly do the views shortcodes render?

Please let me know.

Thanks,
Shane
