I read in the realease notes for Types 3.4.1:

Fixed the 3.4 database migration on really large sites.

However, we have already migrated several of our client sites, which are quite large.

To be sure: what was the issue with migration that version 3.4.1. release has solved?

These sites were too big to manually check the migration afterwards.

Do we have to check our migrated sites and if so, how can we do that?

Thanks in advance!

If you migrated large sites and didn't have a problem then you have no need to worry.

The problem occurred with a session timeout interrupting large migrations (after 20+ hours) and the fix is for this. If you didn't run into that problem in the first place, the fix doesn't affect you now.
