I am trying to:
Use an Asgaros Forum in a website within a Kadense Tab Module. I am using the [forum] shortcodes and [forum forum="2"] shortcodes. When I attempt to create a topic within a forum, when I press the submit button it redirects to a 404 error page. I disabled all the plugins in order to isolate the fact that it is just the Toolset Types plugin which is causing the error.

Link to a page where the issue can be seen:

I expected to see:
A submitted topic

Instead, I got:
404 Error page

This is a link to the help support request I have posted about the issue on the Asgaros Support link page:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/forum-placed-with-shortcode-in-kadence-blocks-tab-loses-all-formatting/page/2/

If you need access to the site let me know how I can give you access.

Hi Andrew,

Thank you for getting in touch.

Would you mind sending me a copy of the websites so that I can have a look at this.

Dear Shane,

Asgaros Forum support sent me this:

"The 404 error-message means, that WordPress is not able to find any page in general which belongs to the URL. That actually means that some other plugin/component registers matching rewrite-rules which are prioritized before the forum-rewrite-rules – it is not able to find the corresponding content (because basically its a rewrite rule of Asgaros Forum) and throws the 404 error."

Hi Andrew,

I took a look at both URL's you sent and they don't result in a 404 for me. I was also able to submit a new topic without any issues as well.

Could you perhaps provide the exact steps to replicating this problem?

Thanks,
Shane

Dear Shane,

Could you please try again?

I replaced the forum with bbpress as a test (and that is what you saw) but unfortunately it is not the solution we are looking for. So we are back to the original Asgaros Forum and the Types caused redirect / 404 issue.

Thanks,
Andrew

I am still getting the 404 messages! Could you please take a look?

Hi Andrew,

In my testing on a fresh install with Types and the Forum plugin I found that I was able to create a new topic without any issues at all.

This leads me to suspect that its not necessarily types causing the issue.

If you're able to could you setup a clean site with only Types and the forum plugin installed and check again ? This way if you are able to replicate the issue there we will know that it is definitely types but for now i'm not able to replicate on my end.

Thanks,
Shane

Dear Shane,

When I disable all plugins except types, the forum works. When I reenable types the forum does not work.

I believe the issue may be associated with the types plugin?

Thanks
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

What i'm making reference to is to Setup a fresh website as I did on my end. Then test it with both plugins .

If it is a setting in either plugin we will know if you're able to replicate it on a brand new installation of wordpress.

As mentioned i'm not able to replicate on a fresh install as i'm able to create a new topic even with the Types plugin enabled. It does not lead to a 404 page when creating a new topic.

Hopefully this clears up what i'm asking you to try.

Thanks,
Shane

Dear Shane,

I installed to another clean install of wordpress just the forum and types plugin and I too was able to create a topic without the 404 error.

How should we proceed?

Thanks,
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Could you provide me with access to this second site so that I can take a copy and provide to our 2nd tier supporters for further debugging ?

Thanks,
Shane

#1251355

Dear Shane,

I am not sure I understand - the second site is working. Topics can be created with the types plugin active.

The site that is not working is the original site that fails when Types is activated.

I point this out because I am not sure what you would be debugging in the fresh site where the forum and types do work?

Thanks,
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

This leads me to believe that there is some corruption in the forum plugin settings that is causing this. It is not redirecting correctly.

As you cna see both plugins work well together. I'm also not aware of a setting that could cause this.

What I would do is to proceed with the second site and as soon as it breaks you can let me know. This would give a more accurate description of what was the last thing done.

Thanks,
Shane

Dear Shane,

"What I would do is to proceed with the second site and as soon as it breaks you can let me know. This would give a more accurate description of what was the last thing done."

Are you saying I should rebuild the entire site in the second install and discountinue the existing site????

Thx

I have just decided to switch to a different tool since I wasn't getting workable solutions or timely responses. Thank you!
