Toolset maps browser location permission by search my location

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: The distance filter for a View triggers a permission prompt even if I don't click "Use my location".

Solution: Update to the latest Maps plugin.

This support ticket is created 6 years, 6 months ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

Hi,

the browser question is still there.

To adjust that, please proceed as follows:

- hidden link
- type in location "langenfeld"
- change the radius to 5 and press ENTER
than appears the browser question.

It appears only when i press ENTER. When i use the arrows for distance then it is ok without the question from browser.

I Think at this moment when i press ENTER the function search my location activates because we have disabled it not correctly.

Hi, I see the problem you are describing and I can replicate that on my own environment. The map seems to ask for location permissions even when they are not necessary if the User presses the Enter / Return key. I will escalate this to my 2nd tier support team for additional investigation. It seems like this permission should not actually be required unless you click the "Use my location" button. Stand by and I will update you shortly.

Hi, after some discussion with the team it turns out the unnecessary location request issue has been noticed and is planned to be fixed in the next release of Toolset Maps, which will happen after the upcoming Types 3 release. I will update you here as soon as the new version is ready to download.

Hi, a quick update to let you know Maps 1.5.1 has been released and is available for download or automatic update. Please install the latest plugin and let me know if the problem is not resolved.
