[Closed] Toolset keeps adding paragraphs in

Hi,

In a archive template I am using the text and fields block.

It keeps adding <p> in this block automatically. I hit save, looks fine on the front end.

Then I came back the next day (literally 24 hours later) and they were back again on the front end and I went into edit and the <p> tags were back.

Any ideas?

Thank you for getting in touch.

Currently I know that our Toolset plugins won't add auto paragraph tags after you've removed them. Can you let me know when did this issue start occurring ? Was it after a plugin update?

Also does the issue re-occur when only the Toolset plugins are enabled ?

I am thinking maybe this happend now when I updated to WordPress 5.7

I don't think there has been a Toolset update recently has there?

I am thinking its WP doing this, is there a better block to use when using code? What is the block you would recommend moving this code to? Instead of the Text and Fields block.

Hi Matthew,

Are you adding the texts in the Visual section of the Fields and Views blocks as this will add the auto paragraphs.

Secondly you can use the Classic text block as an alternative to this. Currently i'm not able to replicate the issue when i'm using the Fields and Text block in its HTML mode.

Can you perform the same test in the Classic text block that wordpress provides and let me know if the issue is there as well.

Also if you can recall exactly how you add the text to the Fields and Texts block please let me know.

No I am sticking to the HTML mode only in the fields and text block as I know its common for WYIWYG editors to add in p tags and alter code.

It actually hasn't done it in a while, is there any chance upgrading to WP 5.7 could have caused this?

I also noticed blockquote code had been added randomly to Toolset forms. It only did it when saving similar to the above issue.

I did a quick test of this on my end using wordpress 5.6 and added some content to the Fields and Text block in the HTML mode and then updated to wordpress 5.7

Unfortunately I wasn't able to replicate the issue. Also it should be noted that this test was done using the wordpress default 2021 theme.

So I cannot say that this was caused by the WordPress 5.7 update. Given that you haven't notice the issue occurring anymore it could be related to an update on your specific site given that you've noticed the issue after the 5.7 update.

What I would recommend that you do is to continue to monitor the site periodically to see if the tags gets added back as it could be related to your install, theme, plugin etc.

Is this issue replicable? Meaning you update your form again do the blockquote code gets added again ? Can you confirm if it is so that we can handle it in a separate ticket.
