Tell us what you are trying to do?
Hello there,
I'm trying to create a template with elementor in which to show every Post in a particular Custom Post Types category.
I'm not been able to find a solution (tried the Toolset View plugin for elementor but I didn't find an option that limits the view only for a particular category).
Maybe the solution is to create different Views for every Category, or maybe the use of Categories isn't good in my case.
The link to my website is hidden link (before was demo3.fabbricantidelweb.it)ù

You can see a post category following this link hidden link
Every bottle (custom post) is shown in this page hidden link

Thank you for your precious help,
Kevin G.

Hi Kevin,

You can restrict a view to display only posts from a certain category.

If you go to your view and Go to the query filter section and add a filter for your taxonomy, you should get the option to limit the view output based on the category.

Take a look here.
https://toolset.com/documentation/user-guides/filtering-views-by-taxonomy/

Thanks,
Shane

My issue is resolved now. Thank you!

And what about doing the contrary ?
I created a View that should display only results in different categories. How can I achieve this kind of solution?
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

There should be a filter settings for the taxonomy filter that allows this.
Just select the option "NOT one of the following" and it will list out all the posts that are not in the selected category.

Thanks,
Shane

Hello Shane,
Yes but in this way I need to create a Custom View for every Category and deselect the specific category for every view... I was looking for a way to show every custom post inside every category except from the one that is opened..

For example (see this link: hidden link )
• Here is the page of a bottle from a Category (that is the brand)
• Under the bottle there is a 4-items row with bottles from the same category
• Under the 4-items row there are other 2 rows in which I'd like to show some other bottles from different brands

Hope I've now been clear, and sorry in advance for my english.
Thanks for your support,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Actually no this isn't possible to do with the filters we have.

You will actually need to create a custom coded filter in order to do this.

Thanks,
Shane
