I try to display Toolset custom post and layout using Elementor Post Grid. The problem is we only can view the result if we edit it in Elementor or WPBaker. I have already ask this to Elementor side and they told me to disable the plugins. And sure, it works. I disabled the layouts but when we clicks on the post, it is not linked to the post itself.

Hi Rebecca

Rather than jump in and tell you to do this or to do that, I want to understand what you are aiming to do first.

It is generally not a good idea to mix page builders, and it sounds like you are using Elementor, WPBakery, and Toolset Layouts, when you should possibly be using only one of those.

So could you describe a little more what you are looking to do? You presumably have some custom post type and you are trying to set up how they are displayed in different scenarios.

Also, it would be helpful if you could include your debug info: hidden link

Hi,

I have deactivate WPbAKERY since we dont use it in any of the pages. I try to deactivate couple of Toolset plugins. Turn out, if we deactivate Toolset Layout, it solves the viewing problem (see attached)

However, this means the layout template I create can not be used anymore. So I create a content template but its not as good as the one using layout Template. See attached fore more clarity

The first screenshot where you use the Elementor Posts Block module, what are you editing there? It's a page? A template?

And the problem is that if Layouts is active, the grid isn't shown on the front-end?

It sounds like you have an empty Layout assigned to the same thing as you are editing, and that when you visit that thing on the front end Layouts is taking control of what is displayed, but there is nothing to display.

But I'm not sure because I can't tell what you are editing when you insert the Posts Block module.

It might help if I could look at your site.

I will mark your next reply as private so that I can get log-in credentials from you—you may want to create a temporary admin user for me to use that you can later delete. And be sure to have a current backup of your site.

I'm not sure where your Expected Result screenshot comes from, because when I visit a clearance product post (e.g. hidden link) I see exactly the same thing, whether Layouts is active or not.

That would be because when using Blocks its templates will override Layouts templates.

The one issue I do see when disabling/enabling Layouts is that the Clearance page goes blank when you activate Layouts. The reason for that is you have a Layout for pages but it is empty (screenshot), so any page using that Layout template will output nothing.

Given that you already have Elementor Pro and Blocks which are capable of making templates (and conceivably some of your other plugins, I'm not sure, you have many), using Layouts as well is discouraged.

I would disable Layouts.

You should be able to design a Content Template using the Blocks interface, I don't think there is anything you can do with Layouts that cannot be replicated using Blocks.

Or, as you are using Elementor on much of the site, if you prefer that interface you could create a template using Elementor.

If you stop using Layouts and try to build the template with Blocks and are stuck on something specific, then let me know and I can try and help with that.

Hi Nigel,

Ah I see, can you help me make the current layout look (hidden link) like the layout in the link below:

hidden link

Some changes need to be made to the placement of the pictures and clearances badges

I went to start designing the template for clearance products using blocks, but the Toolset Blocks are missing from the block inserter.

I'm not sure what the issue is, possibly a conflict with another plugin or your theme.

You have so many plugins installed it's not easy to do any debugging on your site, so I'm taking a copy to install locally where I can do some testing without worrying about breaking anything.

I'll update you again when I've identified the problem.

OK, you have a plugin to disable block add-ons (Gutenberg Manager), that was a distraction.

Disable that plugin so that you can see the blocks available from Toolset.

Then edit the Content Template "Template for Clearance Products" and make the changes you want.

On my local copy of your site you can see in the screenshot that, for example, I moved the two blocks that output the red and green labels into a column block (the standard column block) where I set the right hand column to be 25% width, and I dragged and dropped the existing Single Field blocks into that right hand column.

So they now display much like your screenshot of how you want it to look.

You should be able to do the same on your live site, together with any other tweaks you need to reproduce that look.
