I replaced the Views beta with Blocks today. Here are some issues and questions:

1. When editing an Archive, I cannot load the Document panel – if I click the Document panel, it changes to the Block panel.

2. I recently removed a search filter from my archives, but the search button and clear buttons are still visible on my pages. For example, bottom of these pages: hidden link (taxonomy archive) and hidden link (post type archive)

3. I want to hide the page title on my archive pages but cannot figure out how to do so. In my theme (Themify Ultra) I can usually do so within the Themify Custom Panel, one of the advanced panels that is shown in the post editing screen. It looks like the Toolset archive editing screen omits all custom panels, which I can understand since I assume there may be conflicts. So, what is the recommended way to control the title on my archive pages?

Hi Jesse,

Thank you for getting in touch.

1. When editing an Archive, I cannot load the Document panel – if I click the Document panel, it changes to the Block panel.
I suspect that this issue might be due to a plugin conflict. Could you try temporarily disable the non-toolset plugins and checking to see if the document tab can be opened?

2. I recently removed a search filter from my archives, but the search button and clear buttons are still visible on my pages. For example, bottom of these pages: hidden link (taxonomy archive) and hidden link (post type archive)

I was able to see the issue on both pages, would it be possible for you to remake the archives for these pages? It could be some caching keeping the filters there.

Usually we use CSS to hide this, however some these will have the theme option in the documents panel to disable the title. So please disable the plugins and let me know if you have access to the documents tab.

Thanks,
Shane

Thanks for your help.

1, 3. I will wait until this evening to test for a plugin conflict, as it will affect the front-end of my site. I will let you know what I find out.

2. Is there a way to move my blocks to a new archive (copy/paste or export/import)? So I don't have to recreate the entire thing from scratch.

Hi Jesse,

Unfortunately at the moment no there isn't. You will need to recreate this manually.

Thanks,
Shane

1,3. I changed to the Twenty Twenty theme and disabled all plugins except Toolset Types and Toolset Blocks, but I still had the same problem. When I am creating or editing an archive, the Document tab won't load. I click on the Document tab but it immediately switches back to the Block tab. Note that the Document tab works correctly when I'm adding or editing a page. But it doesn't work when I'm adding or editing an archive.

2. I recreated the archive from scratch and the new archive doesn't have the filter buttons. So that will work.

Hi Jesse,

Would you mind if I grabbed a copy of your site so that I can perform some further testing on the archive issue here ?

Please let me know.
Thanks,
Shane

That is fine, please proceed. Thanks for your help.

Hi Jesse,

We've released quite a few updates to our plugins.

Could you try updating the plugins to their latest versions and let me know if this issue still remains for you.

Thanks,
Shane

I've updated the plugins to their newest version but I continue to have the issue of the Document tab not loading.

Hi Jesse,

Given that we've performed the updates and the issue still persist I would like for you to completely disable all the non-toolset plugins and try again.

Failing this i would need to grab another copy of your site to submit once more to our 2nd tier.

As this issue is not replicable on a fresh install we will need a copy to see where the issue is coming from.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,
Shane

Thanks, I will do so but as it will affect the front-end of the site, I cannot do it during the daytime. I will try to fit it in one of the next few nights, and will respond here when done.

I deactivated all plugins, then activated only Toolset Types and Toolset Blocks. The problem persisted – I was unable to load the Document tab. I also tried switching to the Twenty Twenty theme (again, with only the two plugins activated) and the problem was still present. What else can we try to fix this?

#1527191

Also, I just tested this on a bare bones dev site (not a completely fresh WP install but close to it) – I installed Types and Blocks, then created a WP Archive. I have the same problem – if I click on the Document tab, it switches me to the Block tab. I know you said you were unable to replicate on a fresh install, but perhaps try again just to make sure?
