Hi,

I can’t get this author page content to stay within the white container:

hidden link

Any ideas why?

It also doesn’t seem to realise the content is as long as it is as the footer cuts off the content.

This is a more complex page than I would usually make as its using a content template and a view in one page. Is this why I am having issues?

Thanks.

Hi Matthew,

Thank you for contacting our support forum.

I suspect that this has to be with the container issue. Can you remember the last thing you did before this started happening ?

Could you provide me with admin access so that I can check out how this page was built ?

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Matthew,

Thanks, I was able to log in and to finally understand the issue.

It seems that your archive uses special containers since it's meant to be a masonry type archive rather than the standard archive that wordpress themes would use.

What you may end up needing to do to fix this is to use the standardised method that your theme uses to display the archive. This means you will need to use the same html tags.

See Screenshot

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane,

I’m not really following to be honest.

On the author pages all I really want to do is display text and a list of posts in a simple bullet point list. No need for anything fancy, masonry grids or anything.

I haven’t had issues on other pages only thing I can think is due to the multiple views?

I think I am following you in your saying I should be using the article tags you highlighted as that’s what my theme uses but there isn’t any need to on this page as I don’t need anything that fancy. Just need to ensure it doesn’t break out the white container. Well and also solve the content length issue where the footer overlaps.

Cheers for any help you can provide, this issue is driving me crazy! Ha.

Hi Matthew,

Thank you for the patience.

I was able to use some css to handle the overflowing content .

This should now be resolved.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi Shane

Apologies for the delay following up on this but just had a look and it doesn't seem to be resolved? :-/

I have not changed anything so seems a little odd.

Did you test this page - hidden link ?

Or was you looking at a different page?

Cheers.

Hi Matthew,

This is the correct page but I was referring to the content not overflowing into the footer anymore.

For the white container this is being added by the theme actually so some additional css would be required to extend this for the content area.

I have adjusted this for you as well.

Please let me know.
Thanks,
Shane

Hey Shane

Ah apologies I completely forgot about the overflow into the footer.

Just had a look though and the page doesn't seem to be working at all now, any ideas why? Should I revert back?

Please see the attached screenshot in case you are seeing something different?

Cheers.

Hi Matthew,

Perhaps try clearing your browser's cache. This is what I see on my end.

Thanks,
Shane
