If the objective is to restrict certain content (such as an address field that accesses the Google Maps API) until a GDPR consent cookie has been set, then it seems to me the simplest solution would be to register a custom shortcode that checks for the presence of the cookie (from the PHP superglobal $_COOKIE), and then use that custom shortcode inside conditional blocks or conditional shortcodes.

So if a form contains an address field that should not be completed unless the GDPR consent has been provided, the field (or maybe even the entire form if the address field is required) is hidden using a conditional shortcode and some alternate text is shown (e.g. you need to consent to cookies for GDPR before you can complete this form).

You can re-use the same solution in various scenarios.

thanks a lot for taking care. Maybe that solution can be very helpful for me to fix the issue I´m having right now. Please let me know the details on how to achieve this in the best way possible. What exactly do you mean with "what the consent cookie is"? Do you need to know the name of that cookie?

Though I still think it would make a lot of sense for all of your users to take a deeper look in how Toolset can be implemented in as many different cookie solutions as possible. Maybe you can contact the developers of Borlabs Cookie or another cookie solution to find a better and easier solution. I guess it should be pretty similar with all cookie solution providers. Otherwise for non technical users it´s nearly impossible to find a solution that is GDPR compliant. And in Europe it is quite costly to not be GDPR compliant right now.

I will try to be as helpful as possible 🙂 I´m really interested in finding a good solution that makes it possible to securely use all Toolset features. If it is of any help I can provide you with a staging site of my current site I´m working on. Borlabs cookie is installed there.

Sorry for answering late but unfortunately I still don´t get a notification if the ticket is answered. So I have to check every now and then.
