Hi,

I have activated toolset access and provided publish and edit_own access to subscriber role (for Vendor post type).

But I am unable to add/edit when I login as subscriber role.

I have one post for which author has subscribe role.

Please help.

Have you given the Subscriber role rights for the Vendor post type?

Go to Toolset > Access Control where the first page has the settings for post types.

Make sure your Vendor post type is managed by Access, and grant permissions to the Subscriber role as required.

Thanks, I was able to resolve that. However there is another confusion.

I want the author of the post to edit her content but not create new content.

When I give 'Edit Own', author does not see edit option but can add a post with a 'Submit for review' option.

author is able to see edit only when I enable 'Publish' option.

Am I missing anything?

I checked the internal tickets and see that this is currently under review, but at the moment you are correct.

"Publish" rights must also be granted.

The "Edit own" rights actually map to a WordPress capability that grants permission to edit pending or draft posts, but not published posts.

There isn't a way at the moment to let users edit their own published posts without also letting them publish posts.
