[Resolved] There is a problem with status field. Please check CRED form.

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

The issue here is that the user is getting the error "There is a problem with status field. Please check CRED form."
Solution:

This happens because there is a field on your form that isn't on the custom post type. What I recommend that you do is to check the form to ensure that all the fields that are on the form are the same that are assigned to the CPT.

This support ticket is created 6 years ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

Whenever I edit a CPT using a CRED form (hidden link) I see the message "There is a problem with status field. Please check CRED form." could you please tell me where I should start troubleshooting?

Hi Lawerence,

Thank you for contacting our support forum.

This issue normally occurs when there is an issue with the custom field that you are try to populate with CRED.

What I would recommend is that you check that the field actually exists and wasn't deleted accidentally from the CPT that CRED is targeting.

Thank you, I have confirmed that each field that is displayed on the form exists in the CPT. Could this be related to taxonomies (which I have also confirmed exists)?

I took a look at the form and from what I see your form is empty.

Could you let me know how to replicate the issue that you've been experiencing.

Hi Shane. My name is Lawrence.

This is what I see. I have no idea why you don't see it. There are only 3 forms, the one I am referring to is Form: Edit a Product (ID: 657).

There seems to be a CSS issue as the form background should be dark instead of light. So the form in your screenshot does not show all the text. See the attached screenshot. It clearly shows the status issue.

Hi Lawerence,

The issue is being caused by this here.

[cred_delete_post_link class='cred-refresh-after-delete' text='Delete this product' message='Are you sure you want to delete this post?' message_show='1' action='trash']

That is because this is meant to be on the post itself as a link and not in the form.

I looked again and seems I was mistaken.

The actual field is
[cred_field field='status' post='product' value='' urlparam='' class='form-control' output='bootstrap']

It's complaining about a status field but if you look at the fields on the product itself, there isn't a status field.

When I try to view the form in order to remove this code I suddenly see the attached message which has never appeared before. Please advise as I am unable to edit the form.
