Dear Minesh, it might have nothing to do with the WordPress issue but this page has been functioning correctly since late 2020 and I never changed the settings. See the screenshot: the image size is clearly set to max 400 pixels and displays at max 800 pixels ( the standard size of all my imported images, the site is set to reduce them to 400 and 150 pixels.
I see what you have done in the CSS code, and it works! I made the same change to the other 2 images on the page and all looks good now. It is still a surprise that we had to change the image settings after so many years of working fine, but I am VERY happy with your solution. This is the only page on my large website where I noticed the problem, so a quick fix !!! Big Thanks, you can close the support thread
I just noticed it works fine for the images that have a bigger height than width, but in this case: hidden link the image is distorted. . This was never the case, can you look into it and suggest a solution that works for all images?? Big thanks, Ruud
Hi Minesh: I have 16000 images in a database built up over the last three years, and the site has always shown these images correctly. Most of these images are resized to either 800 by 800 max or 400 by 400 max (maintaining h/w ratio) before import (fttp to siteground server, Media Library Folders pro sync to get them in WP). In WP my default resizing dimensions are 800 by 800, 400 by 400 and 150 by 150, maintaining ratios.
So something MUST have changed between WP and Toolset that now this page (the only page for which I use the Toolset Front End template) does not display correctly.
I could build a new Toolset page to bypass the Front End template for this one database (object database), but that means changing the structure of my site. I used the template because in thsi case it gave me the functionality I needed and I do not want to give up on this. can you have another look WHY the problem occurred before I am forced to spend a lot of effort to experiment with a work around??? Thanks in advance, Ruud
Sorry, I have just discovered that the issue it NOT exclusief for the Toolset Frontend template: The attached screenprint show correct setting of image size to the smallest standard size in WP (150x150 max) on the edit pag, yet on the live page images show a lot bigger!!!
Hi Minish, I have been thinking about this last night and there is another possible cause: the image in the reduced WP size ( 150 max, 400 max) might not have been created in the import process on the host server or is corrupted. I will check thsi the moment I am at my desk again! Thanks Ruud
Hi Minesh: I checked and all relevant images are on the web host server so that is not the cause. I set up a test page to try to show you that the issue is real and I cannot accept a work around that does not give the correct functionality of Toolset back on which I have built my site over the last 3 years.
See screenshots of my test page hidden link
- test1 I added just two images via WP, in format Medium (400 px) and Thumbnail (150 px). They display fine
- test2: I added the same two images via Toolset image block , same format settings. They look good in edit
- test3: result on live page: WP image blocks display fine, TS images display in FULL size (800 px)
Any ideas? This is now becoming a real problem for me !!
In order to minimize the cause of the issue and to ensure there is no conflict with the add on plugins/theme you use:
*** Please make a FULL BACKUP of your database and website.***
Could you please try to resolve your issue by deactivating all third-party plugins as well as the default theme to check for any possible conflicts with any of the plugins or themes?
- Do you see any difference?
Did as suggested and deactivated ALL plug inns. Activated the again one by one starting with the least suspected, after every step I checked the result on the test page after reloading it. Left all Toolset components to last. All could be activated without a change to the test page, EXCEPT Toolset Blocks. Once I activated that component the images were again displayed in full 800 px size.....
