Well, that was not really a solution. It was a debugging step to narrow down the issue and find where the cause resides.
Now, I'll need to do more debugging and I don't want to affect your active users. I suggest taking a copy of your website and analyze it locally. Can I install the Duplicator plugin and take a copy?
Hello,
You can realize a debugging.
Moreover, for the problem presented before, I have deleted this custom field and I have created an other.
The problem is become a problem with "URL". Let me explain:
- I have created an other custom field for use him in my model,
- I have created five custom field whose two who permit to insert a shortcode,
- But when I insert the shortcode, this don't work because it is necessary that enter a valid url,
- But the website refuses that I modify this,
Can you help me please?
It is an Embed field, and it will expect an embed URL. So basically, you must enter an URL in that field, not a shortcode. Does it make sense?
I installed Duplicator to take a copy, but before activating it, I tried again to add a custom field and I was able to. Check this screenshot hidden link
I guess that the issue was just a glitch and it is now fixed, right? If not, can you tell me what steps to do to reproduce it?
Hello Jamal,
Concerning the Embed field, I don't want to enter a "url", I want to enter a "shortcode". Moreover, it i impossible to deactivate the "url" however I uncheck "url" and click on "save". Can you arrange this please?
Second, thanks! It is possible for me to add a new field.
Regards,
Hello and my apologies for the late reply, but I do not work on Wednesdays and Thursdays as you may check on my profile page https://toolset.com/forums/users/jamal-b/
Usually, you will use shortcodes in views, content templates, archive templates. I would like to know why would you like to have them in a custom field? What shortcodes you will be using?
That may help me understand your use case, and maybe there is a better solution than using a shortcode in an embed field.
I also wonder, why are choosing the embed field? Can you elaborate more about it?
In any way, shortcodes will not work in an embed field. Choose a WYSIWYG field instead.
