[Resolved] Temporary registration of 2 sites for 1 month

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: I would like to temporarily register 2 sites while I work on a site migration, but my license only allows 1 site.

Solution: An additional license is not required for a development environment. The software will continue to work as expected without being registered, but you will not be able to use the automatic updater to get the latest plugin versions. You can install the plugins manually after downloading them from https://toolset.com/account/downloads

Tell us what you are trying to do?
I have designed some site pages using Toolset and now I would like to copy what I have done to another site and then delete the existing installation once the new one is up and running. I intend to do this over the next few weeks starting next week.
Please could I be allowed to register two sites temporarily so that I can copy everything across?
I would like to do a clean install and avoid making the same mistakes I made the first time.
Thank you very much for any help you can provide.
Best regards,
BillD

Hi there, the recommended workflow in this case is to only register your software on one site at any given time. We fully understand and expect that our single-site license clients will have development environments, though. If you need to update or install the plugins on a development site, you have two options. As long as you have an active subscription, you may update or install the necessary Toolset plugins manually by downloading plugin updates from your account here: https://toolset.com/account/downloads

The other option is you can temporarily unregister the live "production" site, then create a new key to register the "dev" site. While the original site is not registered, the plugins on that site will continue to function as normal. Don't worry, you won't lose your work or lose support. You won't be able to use the automatic plugin installer/upgrader on the unregistered site, but as explained above you can install or update plugins manually instead as needed. When you're done installing and updating on dev, delete that site key and generate a new key for production.

I hope this helps you work smoothly during the transition period. Let me know if you have further questions about that.
