Tell us what you are trying to do?
We are trying to create a template in the block editor so we can move away from Beaver Builder but when we add a field with the dynamic option, none of our custom post-type fields are showing. For example, we have a single field "joined" in the instructor group but there is no way to display the field in the dynamic paragraph option.
We can add via shortcode but then we can;t use the styling optin for the information.
As a quick test, could you please try to remove the Toolset plugins and reinstall them? Also, ensure to have the latest versions installed (you can check it by going to Plugins -> Add New -> Commercial tab -> Check for updates button).
If still not solved, we might be facing an interaction issue with a third-party functionality, in this case:
- Deactivate all the plugins that are not related to Toolset
- Switch for a moment to a WordPress default theme like Twenty Twenty-one
- If the issue is gone, activate one by one to see with which one there is an interaction issue
Could you please tell me the results of this investigation?
Please show us the page where you're trying to insert the dynamic block. Also, I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.
Our Debugging Procedures
I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.
- Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this: hidden link
Please, let me know if you need any additional details. Have a nice day.
The issue is happening because this template is not taking the 'Faculty Members' post type as the source. To resolve it, please follow these steps:
- Go to Toolset -> Dashboard
- In the 'Faculty Members' row, use the 'Create Content Template' button
- Now, in this new template that appears create your design and try to assign the desired customs fields dynamically
After this you can delete the previous template, if you want. Please give it a try and let us know how it goes.
I have removed the 'Fields and Text' block, re-added it with the 'Joined' field, and refreshed the page. It seems to be working now: hidden link. Could you please double-check it?
