Hi Toolset Support,

I’m evaluating two taxonomy scenarios on a demo site and I’d appreciate your guidance.

Taxonomies
• Project Themes – attached to CPT Projects
• Media Themes – attached to Media (attachments)

Views
• Project Search – lists Projects, has a taxonomy filter
• Media Search – lists Media, has a taxonomy filter

Pages
• Homepage (Media Search): hidden link
• Projects page (Project Search): hidden link

What works
• On the Projects page, the taxonomy filter checkboxes render and AJAX filtering works as expected.

Issue
• On the Homepage (Media Search), no taxonomy filter checkboxes are rendered, even though several media items have a “Media Themes” term assigned.

Both Views are configured in the same way, just targeting different post types.
Question: Is taxonomy filtering for Media (attachments) supported in Views? If yes, could you point me to what I might be missing or misconfigured?

You’re welcome to log in and check the setup directly:

Thanks a lot for your help!

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

Can you please check now: hidden link?

with the view's "Custom search settings":
=> hidden link

I have set the option to "Always show all values for inputs" as you can see with the following screenshot:
=> hidden link

This is the only workaround possible.

However, by default, normally with custom search view, the custom search option "Show only available options for each input" is the default option that means it will offer you only the search filter options with your search filter for which the result is available.

But the custom search option "Show only available options for each input" is not working somehow as with media post type its less popular to add taxonomy and it returns no options with this option but somehow setting the optin "Always show all values for inputs" works.
