We are coming to a crossroads where we will start rebuilding some of our websites that current use Toolset.

Since Toolset hasn't been innovated or really updated beyond making sure it still works I'm not sure we can use it anymore. You haven't posted a blog in a while with your current thoughts and as far as I can tell nothing has really happened with any of the plugins since November 2024. I like Toolset but feel the Blocks are all growing kind of old and I struggle whenever I need to make a change to and old loop because of your plugin and hosting issues.

So I guess I am asking for an update on what is happening so I can decide if I keep using this product or go looking for a new solution for our needs. Thank you.

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

There is no harm in using Toolset and you can continue using Toolset.

We suppose to release hotfix version of most of Toolset plugins in a week of two.

We are releasing Toolset Maps plugin with newly feature of OpenStreetMaps.

You will see a blog post in a week or two or maybe sooner than that.

Actually all the things I struggle with when using Toolset Blocks apparently are still an issue and you all are not working on them so I guess I'll have to do something drastic.

Building a view in blocks shouldn't be a nightmare every time you want to make a change.
If you tell a view to display in a sorted order of a field name and it works on the editor side it should also work on the front end.

Your plugins are amazing as a concept, but you shouldn't have stopped there. Your blocks plugin in my opinion is still very much a beta and not what it should be for prime time. The fact that I can't create a view directly and then reuse it easily in other pages without it breaking is just silly when it works fine with the view plugin but is just uglier and harder to do.

Well - we offer both choice, you can create views, content templates and archive either using blocks or legacy views.

For more advance usage, Toolset users always uses legacy view. You can still use legacy view while using block based view. Here is the Doc that shows information how you can eanable legacy version:

You can always reuse legacy views as well as blocks. Here is the Doc for legacy views:

It's depend on your choice with what views either block based or legacy one you would like to go with.
