[Resolved] Split: What to do if I need a development version of the website

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

I am running WordPress with both a development and a published version and need to determine if two licenses are required for the same website.

Solution:

Go to your WordPress dashboard and register the development version using the same procedure as the main website; during the key generation on toolset.com, select the development option so that it doesn’t take an extra license slot.

This is the technical support forum for Toolset - a suite of plugins for developing WordPress sites without writing PHP.

Everyone can read this forum, but only Toolset clients can post in it. Toolset support works 6 days per week, 19 hours per day.

Thank you very much for your help on this. The issue was resolved. Quick question… So I'm running WordPress with a development version and a published version. My intention is to develop functionality on the development version and then pass it over to the published version of the website. Do I need to purchase two licenses even if it's for the same website?

Hello,

As the previous ticket was set as resolved I created this new one to answer the follow-up regarding the development version.

You do not need to have an additional license for the dev version of the website. Please follow the same procedure you followed to register the main website, but this time for the dev website. All can be done from your WordPress dashboard.

The only difference is that when it comes to the step that you want to copy the key from toolset.comn you have a choice to select the website as a development one.

Then use the newly generated code. It will not take an additional spot in the toolset.com list as you set it as development.

Thanks.
