[Resolved] Problems arising from parent post not being saved with child form

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
Various problems arise because a form which is used to publish child posts is not setting the parent post id correctly.

Solution:
The client was using the Divi button module to link to the form, but the link to the child form needs to be generated by the appropriate Toolset shortcode, and so should be inserted into a Divi text module instead.

Hi Nigel,

Great ! thanks vmuch : I removed the button and the form works perfect now.

Anyway I still have 2 issues :

1- right after the application is registered, an email message is supposed to be sent to the recruiter (author of the job offer) and this is not the case.
See email set up for this form : hidden link

2- recruiters should see a list of their received applications under the their job offer thanks to a "view" at the bottom of the page. Nothing appears at the bottom of the page.
See the content template which embeds this view here : hidden link

Many thanks in advance

Hi Eric

I was going through the steps of submitting a test form again but I note that you have removed the extra button that you had added for the link to the child form.

The current button you have (the Divi button module) doesn't work correctly because it fails to pass the parent post id to the child form. You need to generate the button not using the Divi button module but using the CRED child link shortcode in a text module.

You shouldn't expect the other features which are dependent on the child form knowing the source parent to work if the form doesn't know the parent.

Can you fix the button and then re-test the form submission to see which issues remain?

Have a nice weekend
