Issue 2: Despite selecting the 'Request a Booking form' service required options on the homepage - when it comes through to the hidden link page, it doen't show the drop down of services it should, such as mot, wheel alignment etc... instead it shows Car Servicing, then BMW Servicing, Audi Servicing, Skoda Servicing and so .... which is incorrect.

You are displaying the Service Required field using the form which is a parent field which is displayed using the select2.

By default - the parent field will display all the posts (as the parent field are displaying using select2,select2 by default displays the maximum 10 posts) that is how it works.

We do not have any way to control/filter the posts displayed within the parent field. There is no such feature available.

The thing you can do with the parent field, is you can set orderby (title, ID, date) and order (Asc,DESC) and the only way you can control the filtered post is by post author.

So, in this issue there is nothing much we can do here.

Ok but why is it showing skoda servicing, seat servicing etc.... it doesn't make sense. Can you try changing it to a different type of field? someone earlier - i think Jamal said it needs to perhaps be a different type of field. - please check the earlier history of tickets. It doesn't make sense for it to show MOT or Wheel Alignment then all the manufacturer servicing options - they are 2 separate categories. Servicing is a category of it's own and should be displayed as part of mot, or wheel alignment etc... - pls fix this. if you need to change the type of field, that is fine, but pls fix this. i have been waiting for days and days for this to be fixed.

Also, when you select the dropdown on the get a quote page - it jumps down to the footer - pls fix this.

Also the service required that is selected is not showing on the email notifications or in the subject of admin notification - pls fix this.

We can not fix everything as that is not the Toolset fault but the structure you created. We can guide you but can not build sites for you and its not possible to build/correct everything on your site within couple of days.

What we can do is guide you with proper APIs/Docs/solutions (if available) but you will require to write/correct things on your site and as you know I helps you enough to resolve most of the issues, even shared workarounds where I can but i'm not allowed to correct structure on your site.

Jamal may have told you to use another field but the parent field is the post relationship field and if you remove that it will have effect everywhere relationship is applicable and its not easy to replace relationship with some custom field. I hope this is understandable.

You see the skoda servicing, seat servicing etc.. because those are available as parent post, check your parent post service here:

As explained before, we do not have any control to change options on parent field that is added to form. There is no way to display Hierarchical post within the parent select2 or dependent post based on the selected parent.

The thing is that there is no way to replace the post relationship.

Maybe Jamal should be asking you to create a new custom field that should hold the options for your each service type but that will require lots of modification to your current site and you will have to rethink about how exactly you want to implement it.

If you go to create option for your each service type, lets say you have 10 service types, you will require to create one select field that holds the 10 options for your different service types and 10 new custom fields that holds the related options for your service type.

For example:
- Service Type 1
-- Option 1
-- Option 2
- Service Type 2
-- Option 3
-- Option 4
- Service Type 3
-- Option 5
-- Option 6

For above structure you will require one select field that holds the main service type options (Service Type 1,Service Type 2,Service Type 3) and another 3 custom fields that holds the related options for your different service type.

I suggest you should rethink about above structure and then try to implement it.

If you will implement above structure, you will have to rethink about the post relationship you created.
