Hi there,

Hit an issue and can't work around it.
We have an View displaying results here:
hidden link

Now this we only want England homes showing.
We use shortcodes so we can use one View many times. In this case we use:

[wpv-form-view name="dest-temp" wpv-area="norfolk,suffolk,devon,cornwall,cotswolds,dorset,somerst,yorkshire,lake-district,south-coast,london" target_id="self"]

Using wpv-area= to list the areas.

This isn't working.

We do need the Area dropdown (All properties) also so visitors can then select individual areas.

To be clear, Scotland, Wales & France should not be in dropdown (All properties) or in the results.

Any idea why this wont work please?

Many thanks.

Hi Pete,

Thank you for getting in touch.

Looking at your screenshot and your shortcode filter, i'm not seeing a query filter that matches your shortcode attribute.

Perhaps you need to add the query filter for the wpv-area shortcode attribute for the view shortcode.

I'm only seeing for pet, guest, collection and partner but none for area.

Thanks,
Shane

Hey Shane,

Hope all is good with you and thanks for getting back to me.

There's this issue. The query filter has this:
Filter based on the frontend search filter by Area.
(See in image sent previously)

The area is there initially however the moment add the Area dropdown (All properties) to the frontend filter it changes to what you see now.

It is as if I can't have Area in the backend query filter and in the front end dropdown.

Hi Pete,

That's correct.

If you're using the frontend filter for the dropdown, then you won't be able to use the shortcode attribute as a filter.

Given the care you can pass the values in the URL separately but not through shortcode attribute.

Checking back your initial thread "Scotland, Wales & France" seems to be a part of the same filter that has the other locations. Taking this into consideration we won't be able to use this filter to only show all the others except those 3.

The best option I can think here is to add a distance filter or use some other criteria that would be unique to the locations that you want to appear.

Thanks,
Shane
