I'm trying to display a RFG within a view loop, sorted by "Field - toolset-post-sortorder". The posts the RFG belongs to where imported using Ultimate CSV Importer Pro.

With any other ordering, the view displays the RFG items fine. As soon as I choose "Field - toolset-post-sortorder" as the sort order, the view returns 'No items found.'.

I tracked the problem down to the fact that the RFG items were imported and not manually created via the backend. If I manually change the ordering of the items for a post, the view displays fine with "Field - toolset-post-sortorder", but only for that single post.

It seems the field toolset-post-sortorder is not properly set for imported posts. I wasn't sure if I should contact you or the importer's support. Let me know. Thanks.

Hi Gerald,

Thank you for contacting our support forum.

I suspect that this is so because similarly to a types field it doesn't actually get saved in the database for the post meta unless it is saved for the first time.

So what you perhaps need to do is to set these post order post meta "toolset-post-sortorder" when importing the csv.

Alternative is to set it manually by setting the order on the backend and saving.

Thanks,
Shane

Thanks, Shane!

Setting the field during import seems the best solution here. How would I go about doing this? The field toolset-post-sortorder is not among the fields offered to me when matching up the CSV columns. There is an option to manually add custom fields. Is that it?

Doing this manually is not feasible as these are thousands of posts.

Again, thanks!

Hi Gerald,

The Toolset-post-sortorder field seems to be a hidden post meta field.

I would suggest getting in touch with the WP Ultimate CSV Importer Pro team to see if they can advise you on how to populate the hidden fields, or if you can match a field to a manually created field.

Thanks,
Shane
