The website aboutdereham.org is a membership website and most of the content is created by members using forms. They has no access to the Dashboard.

Two of the custom fields used in the site were originally configured as Multiple lines field types.
Recently we noticed that these fields have duplicated as wysiwyg fields. This is not something I did as website admin.

This duplication has appeared in non consistent ways throughout the structure of the website. Some fields in content forms have been changed from Multiple lines field types to wysiwyg type fields and some fields in content templates have not been changed.

My main question is whether you are aware of any update to either WordPress or Toolset which might have caused this to happen?

It is all fixable but it's going to take days to copy and paste content from wysiwyg fields back into the Multiple line fields where the content belongs. Then I will need to update a number of templates and a number of content forms (which have been affected as well).

I have never seem this type of issue before so your help to understand what might have happened would be appreciated.

Hi Robert

"these fields have duplicated as wysiwyg fields"

You mean where there was a multiline field, there are now 2 fields? A multiline field AND a WYSIWYG field, with the same slug?

Or do you mean the multiline fields have become WYSIWYG fields?

And if you go to Toolset > Custom Fields and edit a field group with this field, it still shows as a multiline field, but if you edit posts in the back end that include the field, in the post edit screen it has become a WYSIWYG field?

In any case, this all sounds very strange. I can't think of any changes in Toolset that would account for this, and although there are breaking changes with WordPress from time to time, again, I can't think of any that would explain this.

Indeed, we don't have any other such reports, which suggest it is an isolated issue rather than a more generalised problem.

Hi Nigel

The field called 'member-content' has been duplicated as 'member-content-wusiwyg'

The field called 'member-content-extended' has been duplicated as 'member-content-extended-wysiwyg'

So the fields 'member-content' and 'member-content-extended' still exist.

Some content templates have changed field use from 'member-content' to 'member-content-wusiwyg'. Some have not.

All content forms have changed from 'member-content' to 'member-content-wusiwyg'

The content in the original fields appears to have been copied across to the duplicated fields (when the 'event' happened) but of course members are now creating and editing the duplicate fields, so it's now all a bit of a mess!

All I can say for sure is I didn't do any of this myself and no-one else has assess to the site's admin.

All very strange!
Regards
Robert

Hi Robert,

To suggest the best way to fix this, I'll need to see how it is set up in the admin area.

Can you please share temporary admin login details along with a link where this issue can be seen?

Note: Your next reply will be private and please make a complete backup copy, before sharing the access details.

regards,
Mateus

Hi again Mateus
I've done a comprehensive update to the site removing the use of the two 'wusiwyg' custom fields.
I'm now convinced this must have been some kind of aborted planned update in the past which I have no memory of doing. I found back-ups of CRED forms and some Content Templates with the correct non 'wusiwyg' custom fields included.
Sorry for the confusion.
Best regards
Robert
