This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The slider controls in a View no longer show.
Solution:
A bug was introduced with the Maps 1.5 release, and an update is already published.
This support ticket is created 6 years, 5 months ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.
