I have a map view that shows the results from a search in another view. This was set up with your help using query filters that reference the URL parameters: hidden link
I have since added a general text search to the filters that are already in place (on a staging site) and I want to know whether I can add this into the map view as well by adding the 'post search filter' into the map view and if so, how I would set the 'how to search' parameters.

I would also eventually need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site. Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.
I have set the next reply to private which means only you and I have access to it.
The above doc shows integration with relevanssi, the steps are exactly the same to add text search filter the only difference is relevanssi integration offers luxury to search in custom fields and you will have to follow and configure certain settings for that.
But if you do not want to search in custom field then you should just select option search in post title or post title and content when you add custom search text field filter.
Can you please try to follow that and check you able to make it work for your existing view.

You can add the Query Filter Post search and select the option " I'll add the search box to the HTML manually" and save the query filter and when you search with your original view the search will automatically apply to the map view as well.
