Hi

I would like the ability to use taxonomy custom fields in filter boxes, right now there is only 2 options:
%%NAME%% and %%COUNT%%

It would be good to have other variables we could use, including custom fields as right now the use of custom fields on taxonomies is fairly limited.

See the topic I raised here for more information about this: https://toolset.com/forums/topic/filter-drop-down-using-custom-field/

Thanks. Any questions please let me know.

This request makes sense if there is a way to query that data by those fields, which there isn't because Post Views cannot be filtered by Term Fields, but only by Terms.

If you would query Taxonomies in that View, then you can add Query Filters by those fields but cannot have Front End Searches, as that is not possible on those Views.

This request could be implemented once we either could query Posts by Term Fields, in the Front-end, or query Terms by Term Fields in the Front-end.

It is filed internally, but there are no plans yet to add this.
You can upvote all those requests here:

1. Allow to filter Posts by Term Fields:
https://toolset.com/feature-request/allow-filtering-by-term-meta-in-a-post-view/
Note that you even it states "Rejected" this does not mean we never will implement it, this depends on votes, and many other factors which may change.
You can upvote the request here:
https://toolset.com/feature-request/ > Views > Allow filtering by Term Meta in a Post View

2. Allow to populate a label of a term Filter in a Post view with term meta fields:
https://toolset.com/feature-request/display-term-meta-as-labels-for-term-filters-in-post-views/
The same, don't let you scare by it's rejected state, this can and will probably change the more votes and time goes by.

I think there is a really important use case for this though.

I think giving a category or any custom taxonomy a "clean" name and an "SEO" name/more user fiendly name is something many users will do.

So a clean name which is shown in drop down filters and an "SEO" name which is more user friendly can be shown for example on the page.

A custom field helps to achieve that but then the custom field can't be used in drop down boxes.

As outlined above, there are feature requests that ask that and can be upvoted.

That is all I can do right now.

I see that you did not yet upvote them, which makes it less probable that it will be considered.

Please let me know if there is an issue with the voting process, or does not work as expected.

Thanks.
