[Resolved] Setting a custom post type as the static front page

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The customer wanted to know if it was possible to set a CPT for a static front page in the wordpress Reading settings.

Solution:
Unfortunately this won't be possible as only Pages from the wordpress default page types can be set as Frontpages.

This support ticket is created 7 years, 3 months ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

Tell us what you are trying to do? I'd like to create a custom post type called "Homepage." Then, in Settings > Reading, under "Front page displays," I'd like to be able to select it from the "Front page" menu. I've also observed that none of the pages I've created based on custom post types appear as options in this menu.

Is there any documentation that you are following? No. I couldn't find documentation on the subject.

Is there a similar example that we can see? No.
