[Resolved] Search results use older/wrong view for custom type

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The issue here is that the customer's parametric search view was showing the old design on his view layout.

Solution:

This may be caused by caching on the website and I would recommend clearing the cache on the website if there is any.

Secondly if this does not work I would remove and recreate the view and this should resolve the problem.

I am trying to:
Have generic search functionality that will do a free text search through my custom type.

Link to a page where the issue can be seen:
hidden link
Home page - search for "Maple".

I expected to see:
The same results as the top twistie shows for how my custom type is displayed.

Instead, I got:
A view from months back that uses outdated elements that no longer exist in the custom type.

Btw, I had installed relevansi. This was also illustrating this behavior, but not showing the proper results. I deleted relevansi and the results became accurate, but still used the wrong/older view.

Hi Peter,

Thank you for contacting our support forum.

Would you mind providing me with admin access to the website so that I can take a further look at this for you ?

The private fields will be enabled for your next response and let me know which view should be displayed instead.

Thanks,
Shane

Not working, but deferring need for now.

Possibly important tip.

For this custom type I had deleted multiple previous versions and reloaded, with a few new/removing a few old data fields. All over the past 3 months.

Finally emptied trash today and reloaded the data.

All problems went away. This also fixed an unrelated problem where google maps was operating incorrectly.

I would guess that your software is not correctly handling deleted elements/views that aren't emptied from the trash.
