They do not get to see the search results, they need to click search before they see it.
That's the least of my worries, the main worry is that people do not get go past page 1.
I have discovered what plugin is causing the problem, it is Paid Member Subscriptions
I have disabled it on Staging, and there the search works as expected. What could be the problem, and how do I debug this?
Yes, you are missing that I mentioned I disabled the mentioned plugin and that makes it work on staging.
Enable the plugin (not longer than 10 minutes as it processes payments) Paid Member Subscriptions and you will see it does not work.
Paid Member Subscriptions is activated and I can see pagination works.

And FYI, if you confirm the compatibility issue, you will have to get in touch with Paid Member Subscriptions plugin support. We do not have any official integration with Paid Member Subscriptions plugin.
It's not working if you look at what the results say. It displays all results, not the filtered results.
As for contacting them, I have, and they say the problem is with your plugin. Putting that aside, where would one look to see what is causing this. They obviously have no idea how your search works, so how would they be able to help?
As for integration of the plugin, there is none, the two plugins have absolutely nothing to do with each other.
