[Resolved] search incredibly slow

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:

The issue here was that the user was complaining that his searches were slow.

Solution:

To resolve this I would recommend the use of the WP Super Cache plugin .
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-super-cache/

As well as if you have images on your site to optimize them using the plugin below.

This should help to increase the site speed.

hey

take a look here:

hidden link

the page loads terribly slow, and clicking a category (a radio button in disguise...) takes ages until the url even changes.

this is a first, usually toolset searches run quickly. all images are not more than 30kbs, so that should be the problem. i have a view within view there for the title, but even if i removed it, it still loaded very slowly.

any ideas?

cheers,
ido

Hi Ido,

I'm wondering if it could be the custom radio buttons that you have.

Could you try using the view with its default settings and let me know if there is still an issue with the search.

Thanks,
Shane

hey,
no - that's not it.
it's the images. if i take out the featured image from the view, it's fine. but the strange thing is that the images are all really small - and they are cropped to custom 300X300.
maybe it's doing something to preload the original image and then regenerate the thumbnails every time?
anyway - i've tried decreasing the sizes of the original images now. strange.
thanks for the help anyway!
