Hi! i need help using Relevanssi to have text search filter in one view to search from parent post titles and custom post titles.
Projects are my parent posts having their own group of custom fields.
Agencies are custom post having their own group of custom fileds.

im creating a table view hidden link which has one column of projects titles and one column of agencies titles(using "A post related to the current post, set by a Types relationship" option, hidden link).
Search and Pagination: hidden link
Loop Items: hidden link

I'm sure my requirement will clear for you, if you have confusion so do let me know.

Now i want the Relevanssi text search to search from both columns. Please help me to get search result from custom posts and parent posts titles.

Thanks

Hi Andrew

This isn't supported.

Relevanssi is a distraction, inasmuch as you are looking at searching the post titles (Relevanssi is required to support searching custom fields).

But Views currently does not support searching/filtering by fields of related posts (I strongly encourage you to request it, as the more users do the higher up the development queue it will go: https://toolset.com/home/contact-us/suggest-a-new-feature-for-toolset/).

So what you want currently is not possible.

Except...

If you add a custom field to your projects that has the title of the linked agency, then—when using Relevanssi—you would be able to search projects by the title of the related agency.

This implies duplication of effort, but is the only way such a search can work at the moment.
