I've been testing the latest beta's of Types/Views and the new relationships. I've created (as an admin) several relationships between several cpt's. However when I switch to another user, I'm unable to create a new post in the relationship section from within a post (no permissions notification). Also connecting with posts from other cpt's is not possible, the list is not populated with posts to choose from (no results found). However the user can create posts normally, directly from within each cpt, so insufficient user permissions doesn't seem to be the issue here.
Hi, thanks for reporting the beta issue. I just tried a basic test of this locally using the betas, but I was not able to replicate the issue. I think there must be some configuration differences in our sites. Can you give me some additional information so I can try to recreate the issue locally?
- In the example you gave above, the first User is an Administrator. What role is the 2nd User?
- When the 2nd User sees the "no permissions" notification, what post type is being edited? What related post type is the User attempting to add in the relationship editor?
- Is this behavior the same if you temporarily disable all non-Toolset plugins and activate a default theme like Twenty Seventeen?
The 2nd user has the author role.
The 2 cpt's are 'Services' and 'Cases' with a many to many relationship (with intermediary post type). Services is a hierarchical cpt, cases is not. I want to create or connect a case to a service, or vice versa. The permission and empty list issue is the same on both post types.
I have disabled all non-toolset plugins and activated the 2015 theme, the problem persists.
Thanks, with that information I am able to replicate the same behavior. I have submitted this to my 2nd tier support team so they can pass that information along to our developers. Thanks again for the report.
Now that Types 3.0 has been released, I believe we can close this ticket.
