I have a listing site where I want buyers and sellers to chat with each other. I was looking at documentation for the Toolset Messaging System. It says that I install the Module Manager plugin and then install the Messaging System Module. But somewhere I found that the Module Manager is a legacy/old plugin so I was wondering if this is still relevant or in use.
It also seems like the Messaging System has not been updated since 2018. Please let me know if I can still use this. Else, let me know if there is an alternate plugin compatible with toolset for this.
It's no longer under active development, but we maintain it for backwards compatibility purposes, given that we do have clients using it.
We don't have reports that it is broken, and absent those I would expect it to still be possible to setup and use.
It is a simple implementation using Toolset tools, rather than a dedicated messaging app. There may well be better alternatives available, but I don't have any particular recommendations.
If you find something that you like the best approach is to simply try it and see if it fits in with your Toolset-based content.
