I was trying to import reference site data so I can "play" in the stage environment. Every time I tried to import the data I got this error (see attachment) and the database is corrupted.

It seems I am stuck at the very first steps, I was trying to follow the tutorial: Install our training material locally or use our Gyms and Trainers – Directory Site

Thanks for your help

Hello and thank you for contacting Toolset support.

I just made a test on a new installation and I was able to install the reference site without issues. You can log into my test site with the following URL hidden link

As this does not complete on your website, I suspect two causes:
- Either, you are using an outdated version of the Toolset Framework Installer plugin. I am using the latest version: 3.1.16.
- Or, you have missing privileges on the database level, which blocks the Toolset Framework Installer plugin from inserting the data in the database tables. In that case, you should also ask the hosting provider to check if there are any logs on the database server level that could help us understand what's causing the issue.

I'll also suggest to let me take a copy of your website, and install it on our platform. Then, I'll perform the installation fo the reference site, and if it succeeds we can assume that the issue is at your hosting level, and we will need more info about it to be able to help.
If it does not, then it is probably caused by a component of your website(an existing theme or plugin), and hopefully, we'll find out what's causing it.

Hello Jamal and thanks for your answer!
I agree it must be something with some hosting settings because, in the meanwhile, I tried again on another host on the same server, without success and with the same error. Then I tried on a third server on another server and I was able to install the demo.
I wish I could solve the issue, with your help, on that specific server on that specific host. In my plans that server is essential and I would like to develop more websites with toolset on that machine and I want to be sure everything is running well. I have full control of the server and the hosting settings so I can change parameters for the php if that is the case.
Anyway, let me go to your suggestions:
1. I checked the framework version, it's the last one Versione 3.1.16 | Di: OnTheGoSystems
2. I checked user privileges, it has full privileges on its database. To be 100% sure I dropped the database and I created a new one, so I proceeded with a fresh WordPress install, again without success

Please let me know how we could proceed, I can give you a full backup of the website, start with a fresh install again, I can give you access to the wordpress backend, FTp, whatever just let me know and thanks for your help!!!

Hello Pier, I'd like to get access to WordPress and FTP, I'll first activate PHP debugging and I will try to install the reference site. Hopefully, if the issue triggers again, it may write some logs that could help us understand what's causing it.
Your next reply will be private to let you share credentials safely.

In the meantime, please make sure that you have all the Toolset requirements enabled on this server. Especially "eval()" and "mbstring" extension. https://toolset.com/toolset-requirements/

I tried a new install for the reference site and the site crashes. Some tables were not able to be created due to a collation error.

WordPress database error Unknown collation: 'utf8mb4_unicode_520_ci'

These errors usually come when we try to import a database to a server with a lower version. I assume that your MySQL server is below 5.6. Can you check that with your hosting provider? Or recover the website and make sure the user you shared is working and I'll check what version from the WordPress backend.

Hello again Jamal,
i restored a backup for the database and it is now working again. I confir your user is working again
The daabase running on that server is MariaaDB version 5.5.38. Could this be the problem? If this is the case is there any kind of solution? Can I expect other issues using Toolset Types on this machine?

The server is actually running Linux Centos 7, coming with that Database version, update today and actually perfectly stable.

MariaDB 5.5 is equivalent to MySQL 5.5. These are unsupported versions. Check our requirements https://toolset.com/toolset-requirements/

You must upgrade MariaDB at least to version 10.0 which is the equivalent of MySQL 5.6. Read more about the compatibilities on this article hidden link
