[Resolved] Reference site install timout

This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem: I am unable to install the "Magazine" Reference site on my server. The installation process just hangs.

Solution: Install the reference site from a backup file. Ensure you have the correct login and database credentials by checking with your host.

This support ticket is created 7 years ago. There's a good chance that you are reading advice that it now obsolete.

No, it's not as simple as installing a theme and plugins - there is required information stored in the database and file system that must be imported as well. That information includes post data and customization information, as well as asset files and so on. Without that information from the reference site installer, the reference site won't match the demo site.

I think I am entering the correct login info....
If you have WordPress running on this site without installing any backups, then you can find the correct information in your wp-config.php file as DB_NAME, DB_USER, DB_PASSWORD, and DB_HOST.

I asked Siteground support an they found out that I needed DB id/pwd, so I managed to complete the restore. If I have other questions about the site I will open another ticket.
