The previous developer let the subscription lapse for Toolset.

The instructions (far/how-to-install-and-register-toolset) are limited to a first time installation. Where are the instructions for re-registering the plug-in?

Because the site is heavily dependent on Toolset, I do not want to delete the existing, outdated plugin and then install the new purchased one.

Hello. Thank you for contacting the Toolset support.

Well - you can simple go to your plugins page and click on "Register" link available with any Toolset plugins and it will redirect you on the following page:
- https://toolset.com/faq/how-to-install-and-register-toolset/#automatic-installation-once-you-have-otgs-installer-plugin-installed

From where you should try to click on "Register Toolset" link and follow the steps given with the above link.
