Hi there,

For some reason, the post relationships system no longer works.

In the Dashboard in my custom post type (Floor Plans) I click the Connect existing New Build Home button which was previously working, and there are no longer any results found.

The CPT relationships on the site are:

Sites (one) to New Build Homes (many)
Floorplans (many) to New Build Homes (one)

Could you shed some light? WP credentials attached.

Kindest regards
Warren

Hi Warren

You say the relationship is Floorplans (many) to New Build Homes (one), but looking at your site it is the other way around, Floorplans (one) to New Build Homes (many).

That means that you can only assign a New Build Home to one Floorplan.

If you start at Floorplan and try to connect a New Build Home, you can't choose from New Build Homes that have already been connected to a Floorplan.

Thanks Nigel,

I see what you mean. In theory, making it a many to many (Floorplans to New Build Homes) should fix the inability to select New Build Homes from the Floorplan page.

Do you see any problem with simply changing the relationship? I don't want to have to rebuild them all again but obviously I don't whether the plugin will do anything in the database that could cause the current relationships to disappear.

I did try on the dev. site you looked at and it seemed to be okay, but I don't want to try this on the live version if it's going to cause issues.

Any insight would help.

Thanks again.
Warren

Hi Warren

Sorry, there was a glitch in our system and this thread was lost in no-man's land.

It is possible to edit a relationship and switch it from a one-to-many to a many-to-many relationship. I've never done it before, and just tried, and the existing connections between posts were maintained.

So you can try it, though I would exercise a great deal of caution, trying on your dev server first and testing to ensure things are not broken.
