Hi
Is it possible to have the calendar shown to the user in front end query filters in a certain view instead of having to click the datepicker icon?

Nope.

The filter includes a hidden field which is what's actually submitted, that is the chosen date in timestamp format.

The input you see triggers the datepicker pop-up which is set to update both the visible field with the human-readable date and the hidden field with the timestamp.

You could replace this with a custom solution that displayed a calendar, as long as it did the same as the existing datepicker field.

A simple workaround would be to use a custom JS snippet to "click" on the date when the page loads so that the datepicker pop-up would already be open, though I'm not sure that is very elegant.
